After 2.5 years and 2 technicians, I learned the control board is bad and would cost about $500 to replace so very disappointed in what was once an excellent brand. I need to purchase a new machine ASAP.

We bought this washer 9-05-2018. It has decided to quit draining. We are now needing repairs of course. Be warned, once the door is locked and it breaks down, you CANNOT open the door to get the WET clothes out! You have to take the back off, do some sort of repairs yourself, IF you know what to do, then it will unlock! BAD, BAD feature! Especially for people who have no mechanical talents!!! I have been on hold with MAYTAG for 31 mins waiting on HELP, (it said 12 min hold at first, now going on 35 mins) Of course you can leave a number to call back, BUT, NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK.. Probably calling a non AMERICAN country! Every time they chime in with hold update, they add at least another 20 mins to hold! What a joke! Thanks Maytag, you win. Lets see IF you call back TODAY! 11-04-19 time is CST 9:36AM

Bought from Brandsmart. Delivered 9/8/2019. Since the second time I used it on Day 1, it started making these loud, griding, thumping sounds during the spin cycle. You can manually spin the drum and hear something moving around. I can't get a warranty repair person in until 3 days after the return policy at the store. The washer weights so much I can't get it out of the house myself and it's not like I have a way to get it back to the store. I'm crossing my fingers this warranty repair is indeed repaired under warranty without a fight and fixes it for good. I purchased Maytag over LG to give the American worker a buck, not for problems. Also, where is the "whites" cycle? Even if it's nothing but a few settings, put one there. And the noises when pressing every single button every single time is ridiculous. Little concerned that washed socks don't really smell fresh after being washed in Normal.

We've had this about 3 weeks and I love the features, especially the boost option, sanitize option and the 16 hrs fresh hold! Extremely quiet, I don't even hear it running! One very minute thing I would change is the volume of the cycle done! It's very low, even on the highest setting.

Owning this exact model washing machine for over a year and knowing for a FACT that there is no way you can wash 29 towels let alone 10! Oh, Maytag must mean hand towels! The machine is junk and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing it, not too! You will either have to add an extra hose extension to add more water or do like I do and walk back and forth to the kitchen sink for pitchers of water! Maytag's excuse of their new water conservative washing machines is bull! The really sad part is that I have to USE MORE WATER because I either have to wash my clothes twice or babysit and use extra cycles to rinse them! I have personally written and complained to the company CEO as to why they don't let women (or better yet the technicians who created this worthless piece of junk) to test them out before mass marketing! I can't wait for the day when this garbage machine dies! Sadly, I was determined to buy a Maytag appliance thinking the quality of "old" was still there but unfortunately it is not! Until then I'm stuck with it!

I bought this a month ago when my old washer stopped working. I really like the sanitizing and fresh hold features. My father is 105 years old and lives with us. I do laundry almost daily and needed a washer I could count on. It is much quieter than my old machine and extracts much more water so that it takes less time to dry our clothes.

We have had this washer for just over 2 years, and the control panel has stopped working. Maytag repair, who took almost a week to get here after we called, informed us that the User Interface had gone bad. It was a defective part, which it lasted through only 2 years of normal use, and yet the part was not covered under the "10 year" warranty. Turns out, the Maytag warranty only covers the drum motor, and as you will notice from my experience and the other 1 star reviews of this washer, it is the electronics that are faulty on this machine. Since the $300 for the repair was less than a new washer, we okayed it, and then had to wait another week without a washer until the new User Interface was available. When the repair people arrived, however, they informed us they had ordered the WRONG part. Worse yet, the RIGHT part is back-ordered, meaning that it will take 2 more weeks for it to come in. Assuming all goes well on the next repair visit, we will have been without a washer for nearly a month. All this is Maytag's fault, yet they have been completely unapologetic and unhelpful. Maytag may have stood for quality once, but those days are over. Buyer beware.

Have this almost 2 years. Consider this a step down from the Neptune model I had previously. It does an okay job of washing the laundry. Some of the cycles on here are useless. The electronic controls are nowhere near accurate or linear. Tells you 4 minutes til load is done and 15 minutes later is still showing 4. The ten-year warranty is only for the motor and basket. As I just found out after paying for a service call which resulted in nothing being fixed. They could have put in a new control board for $280 but would not guarantee that would make any difference. Have been a Maytag customer for 20 years. This is the last product I will buy from them.

I purchased two of these washers along with stackable dryers for my home. Prior to this I owned a stackable Duet series that is a simpler version of this for about 10 years with no problems. After about a year and 1 month I had problems with one washer, it was slightly out of warranty so I had to pay a local repair company $400 for a new control board. 6 months later it was dead again. At this point I wasn't paying another $400 when the machine costs $800, so I just figured I got a lemon. I had to match the other 3 machines in my home so I went and picked up another one. I am exactly one year into this machine and its dead, looks like another control board, unbelievable. Maytag is sending someone out to fix (I hope) but I'm done. I've always purchased Whirlpool and Maytag, never again.
$4000 invested to have a beautiful laundry room in our home and its been nothing but a headache. Also, in order to access the pump screen in the Duet (older model), you simply removed 3 screws in the front of the machine, removed the bottom panel to get at it, easy. What genius thought it was smart to now make you pull the whole machine out off the wall, remove the rear panel (many screws), in order to do such a routine simple task? The Duets (new) I bought for my daughter are the same way now, stupid. Anyway, to sum it up, I bought 7 machines for two households in 3 years. Very disappointed, never again.

I always thought of Maytag as synonymous with quality, but I am very disappointed in my Maytag washer. Machine did not make it even three years before having serious issues (frequent error messages, getting stuck at the end of cycle with motor running, nothing happening in drum, door stuck locked, etc). Every time you go to do a load, it is a wonder if the machine will work as intended. Technicians have been out to attempt to repair it, but it seems like the permanent fix is a new machine after owning for only THREE years. Sad that we now have to spend $1000 +/- every few years or so to keep a reliable washing machine in the house. This machine was rated highly when purchased, but it has been nothing but trouble and frustration. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag that was on its last legs, but I clearly should have kept the dinosaur since quality does not appear to be what it once was.

When I was shopping for a washing machine I unfortunately listened to my husband's advice who said Maytag is a reliable brand and that we can't go wrong with it. I wish I never listened to him. I am so disappointed and frustrated. The first month I was using it I felt that the quality of the wash is not good at all. The clothes didn't smell or look clean after the wash at all. They were also so wrinkled and drying them in the dryer of the same model didn't help with that at all either! I changed detergent after detergent and added baking soda to the wash and other bleaches and products to give a good scent "which I don't like to do" to get to an acceptable level of cleanliness. I thought to myself I will keep the washer and I will get used to it because I didn't want to be without a washing machine since it will take forever to exchange it and wait for a new delivery! I wish I had returned it when I could!!
Few months later the washing machine was acting funny...It would do things like stop the wash in the middle of the cycle sometimes on it's own and other things that had to do with the program that I can't remember now but I called the maintenance and they scheduled a visit that was when it was still under warranty and still in the very beginning. Anyways the handyman did admit to me that the found that there is a defect in some of the controllers on the machines of this model and he ordered that part for me and I had to wait for a couple of weeks and then he got the part and replaced. Unfortunatley that was past the returning period of the purchase and I couldn't return it.
Few months later, the machine acts crazy again...stops in the middle of the cycle and shuts down. doesn't finish any kind of cycle. I restart the machine...I unplugged and replugged....I called help center...nothing works....After leaving it for a few days when I tried again it worked fine for a few days...then back to the same crazy mode....The machine keeps turning on and off on it's own and makes sounds. Have to unplug it before we go to sleep! I am stuck with dirty unfinished wet clothes. I don't have a warranty (I didn't buy one cause my husband said it's the best brand and very reliable!!!)
I am so frustrated and disappointed! Can't wait to get rid of the washer and the dryer and getting a different brand!!

Very disappointed. Aesthetically it is a beautiful machine. Unfortunately after 25 months it broke down, which is especially sad since it isn't used a lot in my one-person household. The warranty only covers parts after the first year so expect hefty service charges. I'm up to over $300 which is a third of what I paid for the thing. Again, very disappointed.

Our washer is about a year old.....and the rubber inside the door,is moldy black around the inside the rubber seal,and every time we open the door,a nasty smell comes out....my friend called the 800 number and they told us to get it repaired,I think it is just a bad set up....i scrubbed and scrubbed and worthless......but the washer it self works great...

Remember those old Maytag commercials with the repairman sitting around trying to entertain himself because the phone never rang? What a joke. Our washing machine broke after only 5 months. There is a humming noise and the "door locked" light flashes. That's it, no other response from the controls. Of course the door is stuck locked. We called Maytag on a Friday. They said they could have a local contractor look at it on Monday. We asked if they could do something sooner because anyone with kids understands that the weekend is laundry day and there is a lot of it. They said no, but we were free to call the contractor ourselves, which we did. So now we're doing customer services's job. The contractor came out on Saturday. He plugged in the machine, took one look at the front, and asked if we knew what code popped up. We didn't. He said he would have to call Maytag on Monday because without the code he didn't know what was wrong. Monday came and went. No phone call. We call the contractor on Tuesday. They said Maytag was closed on Monday for training and they would get back to us on tomorrow. Tuesday came and went. No phone call. We called them on Wednesday and they said they would, of course, get back to us tomorrow. So to sum up, we have a defective machine, called an indifferent customer service department, and are dealing with an apathetic or possibly incompetent repair contractor. Boy how the thought of those old commercials makes me laugh.

After closing on our new home, I dragged my feet trying to convince myself that it was my imagination that our clothes didn't smell clean or fresh. While on my iPad at 2am Saturday morning, I made the Maytag purchase and Lowe's was in my driveway at 8 am on Monday morning! First load of clothes and WOW, WHAT A WASH MACHINE. I like to look at the clothes tumbling through the backlit glass, I love the song it plays when I hit the buttons, I love the soap dispenser, I love that's its quiet! The clothes are so fresh and clean, just wonderful! One of the best and most satisfying purchases I've made. If you are considering this washer, just do it.

Washer stopped working only after 14 months of use. Since it's out of warranty, I called in service technician to diagnose it. Found out , it's user interface panel was bad. Big name service company offered to fix it for $475, including a diagnostic fee. I order part online and was able to swap it myself, but it still cost me $280 to fix it. Unless Maytag will reimburse me for this, I'm not buying anything from them from now on. Also, there is a rust under detergent dispenser, which is an acceptable for a brand new washer. Overall it rubs ok and helps to bring water bill down by $20 a month on average in Florida.

We bought matching Maytag washer dryer 2005. Washer just broke in December 2018 - lasted 13 years. We bought another Maytag washer Dec. 2018 because we knew it would last just as long, or longer, as our other one. This washer is 4.5 cu in size big enough for all our laundry. Lots of options to choose from - even sanitize option using hot water for whatever needs sanitized.

I have had this machine for about 18 months after having a top loader for about thirty years. I looked at a lot of machines and read the reviews. I am so impressed with this machine, it cleans EVERYTHING well! I have had zero problems with the washer dryer combo I bought. I highly recommend this machine.
