I bought this a 2 1/2 months ago when my old chest freezer went bad after 30 plus years. Haven't had any issues and love being able to see everything in the freezer. The old chest freezer I would forget I had something not being able to see it. I went with the upright as it's in the garage and live in ND so it does get cold in the garage.

We moved into our new house, and one of our purchases was the Frigidaire 14.4 Cu. Ft. Freezer. We have enough food ( but not hoarded)so that we are able to stay safely in our home for a period of time. Needless to say, that alone makes us delighted with our purchase. We like the layout of the interior and the ease of placement of the food inside. Good shelving and a door which allows for packages of food nicely.

Have now had a chance to fill my new freezer with all my homemade favorites Mac and cheese and lots of homemade soups and veggies from our own garden. I like that this new freezer has more insulation and the most important new feature a light to let you know that it™€™s working properly. Our old freezer was fifteen yrs old and a Frigidaire which served us well over the years. Because of it™€™s age and in our garage and very hot this summer we were not sure it would survive. Kept checking to be sure it was still running. We are in our late seventies and eighty and don™€™t think we will live to use it for another 15 yrs but someone in our family certainly will. It™€™s a great product, and it was difficult to find a freezer that was not self defrosting. So glad your company still was making this product.

I've had this freezer for about 1 month & am pleased with its function. We downsized from a larger freezer that was 40 yrs. old when it died. I hope this one lasts 1/2 that long! I do find the light to be in the way when I add & remove items from the top shelf, since the light is in the middle front. That could be better positioned. I also miss the metal bin I had in the bottom of my last freezer. It held irregular shaped items without them falling out/taking up extra space. So I've had to add plastic bins which is an OK solution. The freezer maintains an excellent, cold temperature & does not run a lot. It is quiet when running. The door seal seems very secure....I need to hold the body of the freezer when I open the door.....& that's good! The shelves in the door are nice & deep & closed at the bottom so narrow items don't fall out.Overall, I'm happy with this freezer at this time.

It is a quality product and the design is very good except the suction makes open the door somewhat difficult and it has not subsided in two weeks. Maybe when the freezer is fully loaded it will open more like a refrigerator door with regards to force required. The manual should show the defrost draining better also. Overall a very good product.

I was frustrated trying to find a ™€œreal™€ freezer, not an auto defrost that results in freezer burn over time. There were several chest freezers with manual defrost, don™€™t want to bend over and dig for items on the bottom or take up so much wall space.
